I’ve been super busy with commissioned projects. Here’s a quick look at this past weeks work.
My sister is really embracing the art of pickling and canning her homegrown veggies. I’ve been asked to design some labels for her jars to be gifted to friends and family.
A quick logo for a friend’s new band.
Ongoing project for a massage therapist’s new business cards. There have been several versions of similar designs, and we are still working to reach a final product.
Just a quick sticker design I’ve created for my sister’s jarred foods she has started making. This is an example of what her Balsamic Glaze will look like once the sticker labels arrive from being professionally printed.
Handdrawn type is harder than it looks. Especially for someone who refuses to use rulers or straight edges.
The lovely thing about hand-lettering and typography is that it is done by hand. This leaves room for slight imperfections and crooked lines, which I can’t help but appreciate.
I have been toying with some drawing apps on my Android phone. Experimenting with cursive fonts that I have been overlaying onto photographs I have taken. The example at the top was actually done on paper, then photographed for a similar process.
